introduction

Hello visitor, welcome to Roadstorm! This website serves as a place to list the various Xenosaga series websites that I own and maintain. The kinds of sites that you will find here are usually based solely upon providing information and personal insight on a certian character. While others are websites that rally together fans of Xenosaga related subjects. I created this site because the Xenosaga content was beginning to take over my webspace. It was also becoming a bit tedious to link to each site on various forums. I decided the best way to do this was to create a simple directory so visitors could find the content easily. If you are not familiar with the terms "shrine" and "fanlisting" in the internet world, please have a look at those sections, they will explain it a bit further. Other than that, you can find links to several similiar Xenosaga websites in the links section. Please enjoy your stay!

What is Xenosaga?

Xenosaga is a Role Playing Game (RPG) for the Playstation 2 console. The story contained within spans three games created between 2001 and 2006. Additionally, there is a fan game titled Xenosaga Freaks, a cell phone game titled Xenosaga Pied Piper, and an anime series. These were only made availible in Japan. Beyond your typical RPG series, such as the Final Fantasy franchise, Xenosaga's story is chalk full of vast information and deep spiritual and socialogical concepts. This makes the player question their own world, even if they do not nessicairly believe the sometimes heavy world-religion based concepts. Beyond that, the characters contained within are deep, and not your typical RPG heroes. The main character of the series is a twenty-three year old glasses-wearing "geek", while other main party members are all within their twenties and thirties (some are older than that!). The youngest is a twelve year-old artificial human, and a twenty-six year old stuck in the body of a twelve year old. It certianly makes for an interesting cast of characters.

I've been hooked on Xenosaga since the first game, which was released in the United States in 2003. I've anxiously awaited each installment, and I've poured over them constantly. My favorite characters have changed as the story progressed. Eventually, when the series came to an end, I found myself liking almost everyone, if not at least having some form of respect and appreciation for all of the characters. This includes the many villians. This is something that Final Fantasy has yet to do.

Sadly, the Xenosaga series never really became that big of a hit in Japan or overseas. The fanbase remains a fairly niche one. I hope that through the content of these websites, other people may become interested in this amazing series as well.

Further Site Information

The title of this website, Roadstorm, comes from one of Ziggy's ether attacks in Xenosaga Episode III. I really liked how it sounded, but I wasn't sure whether to use that or another. I finally decided to use the title because of the bold sound of it. This website was created in September of 2006 and is a part of the Erstwhile Network. The textures and brushes used in the layout can be credited to Hybrid Genesis. I created the layout in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Image Ready, and it was uploaded with Fetch. It's also been tested in Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari. It should work in all current browsers. Lastly, it is best viewed in a screen resolution of 800x600 or higher.
